NEED HELP: Integra MAP Sensor problems/Idle Problems HELP PLEASE
I have a 2000 Integra LS 5 speed with a rebuilt motor (B18B1) that i just put in on 12/23/11. I put it back in, got everything plugged back in. You know, everything required to swap a motor back in. And I have everything timed right. The problem is, when i start the car, it idles around 1700-1800 and then starts the "Honda Idle" where it idles up and down constantly. But the trick is, when i unplug the MAP Sensor, it idles normal and i plug it back up and it stays idleing normal. But when i turn the car off and back on... it repeats the process. The check engine light is on so i ran the codes and got: P0108, P0122, and P1399. Those mainly have to do with the MAP Sensor. Well i bought a new MAP Sensor and TPS. It doesnt honda idle anymore but idles around 1500 and when i unpug the MAP and plug it back it back in, it idles normal. Also, between 1500-3500rpms the motor seems weak and almost sounds like it hits V-TEC at 3500. Im really confused and would greatly appreciate help. Respond with any ideas/questions. Thanks.
Did you calibrate your tps? .5v at closed and 4.5v at WOT.
Are you sure you did not mix up the plugs for the tps and map sensor?

I will try to calibrate the tps. And im positive that they arnt mixed up, my harness will only go one way. I mean, I can start it up with out the MAP plugged in and it idles perfectly and if I plug it in after I start it, it still idles fine. Its only when I start it while its plugged up that it idles high.
At a cold start? Car should idle at 1500rpm until it reaches normal operating temps then drop down to 800rpm.
ok first off i got a ?...after u replaced the sensors u said the car was still idling at 1500 rpms....is that cold or at operting temp? i imagine/hope u relize that when the car isnt at operting temp it purposely makesitself idle at 1500rpms (exactly) in order to reach operatingtemp faster.
if it is warm an still does the high idle issue then as a user above me said u can either try calibrating the sensors...easiest way is to buy a scan tool (cheap one from advanced auto ect.) that has a live data view.u cn look at both the TPS volage and MAP sensor input..

Nope it still idles at 1500 when warm. But like I said, if I start it with the map unplugged then plug it back in or start it with it plugged in and the tale it out and back in, it idles normal. Cold ans warm both.

with the map unplugged, it's possible that the pcm defaults to fixed values based on readings from other sensors. could be why it idles proper when unplugged. just a theory though.
i'd definitely check for vacuum leaks. easy enough to do, and you can at least rule it out if it isn't the cause
