Default Need Help with integra cooling problem!!!

i have a 90 integra and yesterday it acted like it was overheating. but i had only driven it like 3 miles and then it did this. the coolent leaked all of the way out so i checked to see if there was a crack but there wasnt so i filled it back up with coolant and then drove it how another 3 miles and it wanted to do the same thing. I noticed that the gauge really started to get hot when i got on the gas. i dont know what the hell the problem is please help!!!

i thought it might be the water pump????

Definitely check the Water pump. Same thing happened to my civic, although mine had a big puddle on the ground.

how much does a water pump run?....... someone also said that it could just be the thermostat getting stuck.

something that is leaking this quickly you will be able to get out of your car and see visually, the coolant coming out of where it is leaking. first check to make sure there is no white smoke coming out of your tailpipe, that is an indicator of a blown head gasket, you would have noticed that though, and hopefully written that down as well in your symptoms.

check water pump area, all hoses, and radiator, take note of which side of the car the coolant is coming from (driver/pass.), and localize your search.

if it is your water pump, it would be a good idea to change your timing belt too, as they are both closely related in proximity (that is unless you just did your timing belt, in which case you should have done your water pump too).

yeah this same thing happened to my first civic. I changed the thermostat like twice, but it didnt help. i had thick white smoke coming from the exhaust, cause the haed gasket blew and i was burning antifreeze. I should have changed the water pump and timing belt, before all this happened. On my 94 integra a water pump+timing belt job cost me like 600.

it is on the drivers side of the engine, it is hard to discribe what it looks like, maybe you can do a search and find a picture? (not just in H-T, but on like google or something)
