Need help identifying B18c
At first I thought it was just a JDM GSR, 1996 or greater. I bought it from a guy in hondamarketplace who sold it as a GSR motor out of his car
some things to note before you look at the pictures
-The head has p72 markings
-The vtec solenoid gasket on the head is for a 1994 - 1995 GSR. I found this out because I originally got a 1996 gasket and it was wrong
-The distributor that came on it was an obd2 td-87u (itr)
-did not come with header installed but I was given a USDM ITR header, i just placed this cheap broken one in the pictures I had on it to protect it from the elements
-came with blox intake manifold so I am unable to look at the original manifold
-the block has the crank sensor at the crank pulley
-After placing the motor in my car I noticed it is alot stronger than my old GSR motor
-painted valve cover (i think, the paintjob looks really good, did any motors ever come looking like that from the factory)

What does the block stamp say? (I cannot currently view the pictures if it is shown.)
Does the VTEC solenoid have the pressure switch? JDM engines did not have that. The previous owner could have swapped the VTEC solenoid to work with a an unchipped USDM ECU.

Block Stamp is as follows
B18C

The VTEC solenoid has the oil pressure switch wire coming from it if thats what your asking. I did get the ECU he was using too, it was a chipped with the vtec wiring added P06 obd1

I think not. If the head says P72 on it, it is similar to the USDM GSR. The B18C ITR engine has a PR3 head.

there is no stamp for the year, I was guessing 96+ since the block had a sensor on the crank pulley. The head says P72-1
some other things to note. the cam pulley has PR3 on it and the water pump from my 1995 GSR motor fits on it. I hear they are different between 95 and 96

thanks guys. It says 93? i thought only the b17 was made in 93 or is that out of a 1994 GSR because they basically make cars and put them out before the next year
sorry for hijacking your thread but I´ve searched for P72-1 and this one popped up :-)
Maybe it´s the only chace for me to get some usefull informations in a short time.
Do JDM GSR cams have the same specs as USDM GSR cams? I´m planing to buy a P72-1 head on ebay.de (germany) in a few days and I´m tryin to find out some more informations about it. The head will also come with IM and TB so where are the differences between the JDM one and USDM one?
