Default need help with a check engine light

Someone was checking my car out tonight seemed like they wanted to steal it. Im not sure what it is, a friend told me to do this. There is a big grey plug to the left of the engine with multicolored wires coming out of it, I unplugged this so the car wouldnt start. Now I have a check engine light. Can anyone tell me what the plug is and why I have a cel now? Thanks in advance for any help.

That's just part of your wiring harness.. you plugged it up and it's still giving you a check engine light? Check the CEL code and see what the problem is.. you probably just need to reset the ecu.

you definitly need to reset your ECU b/c u unplugged the main harness. just pull the ECu fuse or disconnect ur batt for a few seconds. when u start your car let it idle for a few min w/o stepping on the gas then you should be okay. if not bring it to your local acura dealer.
