Hi guys. I just put a B18C block in my 99 integra gsr. The block that I purchased had raised compression pistons in it and I used my old gsr cylinder head with it. When it runs though, the motor sounds like a diesel motor it knocks so loud. I already checked valve lash and set ignition timing to the same specs as the old motor and my compression is at 195 psi. I put 94 octane in it and octane booster. Anybody have any suggestions?

 

i suggest you find out exactly what pistons are in your block before you blow your engine.

 

They look like j-spec type r pistons

What makes you say this?

 

Just by comparison with pictures of type r pistons

 

Look like and are are two different things.

I know someone that looks like jessica alba but she isin't.

If you saw them, did you see them stamped P72 or P73 anywhere?
