My Integra
Well I bought my Integra as a theft recovery. When I bought it it was in bad shape but ive fixed pretty much everything. Well on the drive home, i relized that v-tec wasn't engaging. Well atleast it made no sound or made no changes it all. My check engine light is saying TDc sensor. Well I have 300 bucks too spend on my car (thank you christmas).
I'm thinking about buying a timing light and checking my timing. See if that does anything with my v-tec. I'm thining i may need a new distrubutor but i'm not sure. What do you guys think could be the problem?

Yes, this would be a good start.

Re: (TRE_)
Wtf, i try and reply to anything i know something about. I made a post wondering what could be wrong. Two people tell me it's my v-tec solenoid, Yay good guess but I want to know for sure. I just asked if their was a way i could know for sure and nobody tells me. Team-Integra is down. When it's back up I won't be posting here much. Since everyone here at honda-tech is ******* retarded and can't help people out.

fix your problem, reset the ECU and viola VTEC.</TD></TR></TABLE>
The most useful advice here! I would look into getting that CEL fixed first!

If CEL is saying TDC it's needs to be recalibrated or it's bad. You just need a voltmeter to check the calibration. Just in case you don't know what sensor it is, it's located on the T-Body on the backside near the firewall.

Winner!!!! Regardless of what your prob. is if you have a CEL...VTEC WILL NOT WORK.

My friend had a CRx with the CEL on all the time and his v-tec kicked in.
Thank you skunk for actually answering my question and not being a dick.
To everyone else I told you what was wrong, you told me what to change. I asked how I can know for sure and no one could answer it.
