My First Car, 94 db8! slow build
Sup HT,
So im 17 and i bought my first car after aboout 6 months of looking. I knew from the get go i wanted a four dour, and i didnt want to settle so i just stayed patient.. Few months ago i found this older lady who had this bone stock Db8 that he had and didnt use. Everything was stock, and it only had 94k miles on it. So i picked it up for 2800. It needed some cleaning and it had some dents and dings(what do you expect for a 17 year old car). so i have a job and cash coming in so my brother and i (the one who got me in the "game") are going to build our cars together. (he is rebuilding his eg after someone wrecked his last one) after about three hours washing it inside and out it looked real good. So i have major plans for it... In a few weeks i should have enough for full coilovers. I have my mind set on Function and Forms Type II, ive read great reviews on them and they're in my price range.then more and more as i get the money.. Advice, suggestions, and tips would be greatly appreciated! ill try and keep it updated as much as possible

lookin good man, gonna be sexy when its dropped. you plannin on keeping it green? if so, bronze wheels would be sick on it. keep the mud guards too. good to see someone whos new to "the game" like me. got my first teg last october and my journey has been nothing but fun.
best thing to do is research, research, research! honda-tech, team-integra, club integra, etc. if you want a little extra power at first, nothing wrong with a good ol' I/H/E (Intake/Header/Exhaust). im still learning new things everyday and i love it.
congrats on your ride and good luck with the build! looking forward to seeing the progress.

Dayum, what a nice find. 2800 for a 94k gsr that's bone stock, and comes with mud guards. And on top of that, its a 4 door too. Good luck on the build and welcome to the game.

Re: My First Car, 94 db8! slow build
thanks guys.
MFBATZ, i dont plan on keeping it green cause it needs paint... but thats a few months down the road. probably during summer break. I have a few colors in mind but nothing for sure yet.
im spending the weekend trying to find out where my sunroof leak is coming from. its nothing major and only when it rains super hard... but i think its the seal. so im replacing that soon.

Nice! I just bought a 4d as well, bone stock ready for some fun. Only advice I've gotten directly and indirectly is not to rice it out, ha. Have fun and post updates.

what a great find on db8. thats clean.! congrats. yes suspension would be key for now. and getting it dropped. On your engine bay pic it doesnt show your filter maybe you were cleaning it. i would suggest getting a cold air intake or short ram. simple bolt on and you'll get more power.

I just joined the DB8 Team™ as well with a stock 96 white! My only advice to you is to maybe go with a different coilover setup. Check out the suspension forums here for the price I would tell you to go with Koni/GC set up. Anyways nice find and G/L!

Re: My First Car, 94 db8! slow build
So its my last and final update.
Its been a long time, but i just got busy with work and school i could never update this. But in the time since my last post i was able to fix everything on the car (inner/outter tie rods, cv axels, sunroof leak, trunk leak, starter, head gasket) and i loved every minute with it. I had huge plans for her this summer with me taking out a $5,000 loan to put straight into her. But i guess it just wasnt meant to be because last month i let my brother borrow her not knowing it would be the last time i would get to drive her. She was totaled, with me not being able to salvage much of anything. I lowered her on AGX/GC full coils and had some other minor upgrades. She was clean nonetheless. It was hard parting ways with my first ever car, the first thing i put my own hard earned money, blood, sweat, and tears (literally)into. Butsoon, hopefully, ill be able to be riding in something again that ill grow to love.
