Default My Compression numbers EEK!

What's up HT.. I was a member on here back in 02 and I come back and my account was deleted!! Most likely due to inactivity. So ya I'm not a noob just haven't been here and been on T-I all this time so welcome me

Anyway as for my first post I was planning on doing a nitrous setup on my 170K GSR motor. So before I got started I wanted to see if everything was straight and check the compression. Well here are my numbers:

What's up with the 135?!!!

Will this affect my setup? I've seen other people have low numbers on this SPECIFIC cylinder and still turbo their motors, but what measures should I take now? Should I just scrap the Nitrous idea? I'll probably have to do a leakdown test too.

I would do it again to be sure. Bring the car up to temperator and then check it again. I checked the compression on my GSR and got 145 on one cylinder which freaked the hell out of me. Then I got it up to temp and did it again and got 175. Those other numbers are pretty good with your mileage. I have 175, 175, 185, 185 in my 174k GSR.

Hmm. I didn't try that . Just in case you guys want to know how I did the test. The car was sitting in 30F weather so it wasn't warmed up, with WOT, and did 5 cranks and checked the reading. I did each cylinder 3 times just to make sure I was getting consistent numbers.

But thanks for the post, that gives me some hope
