Default motor mount insert

im thinking about getting aftermarket motor mount insert to elminate some wheel hop but i have a few concerns.

what are the downfalls of having stiffer inserts? i know there would be more vibration in the cabin but would this "wear" out a certain part of the chassis/frame?

im just paranoid person and dont want something parts of the car to get loose because of vibration from stiffer mounts.

what inserts do you guys reccoment?

thanks

the vibration in the cabin is mostly form the steering rack. i wouldnt say it would cause damage to you, other than making you thow up on long trips But i wouldnt know any short/long term damage if any.

go with the ES inserts they are easy as hell to put in.

vibes are ok after a while, a little wierd, b ut I drove 1200 miles with them in one sitting with no problems, they seem to go away after a while....unless your seriously dragging the car simply replacing the front two mounts (part of the 3 mount ES kit) and leaving off the rear mount helps a ton with the vibrations, most people over on team-integra have been installing without the rear...I love the difference, it seriously makes the car FEEL more powerful.....

I just have the 2 torque mounts installed...it definitely made a difference with wheel hop. Vibrations are almost nonexistent without the rear mount in.

I noticed an annoying squeak coming from mine when the motor moves shortly after putting them in, thats about the only downside I see, and for all I know it could be unrelated since I havent really looked into it much.

i put all 3 motor mount inserts and both trans mount inserts. i used prothane and Energy suspension. they are awesome, the vibrations i think are awesome, and everything any where vibrates in my car. at certain rpms cruising on the highway, my rear view mirror vibrates a ton, its not going to fall off, but alot of things vibrate. I have been to the track to notice a difference in wheel hop, but all i hear is good things about helping to get rid of wheel hop. You can also try traction bars if you want to get rid of wheel hop, those run i think $200 - $400. i really have no idea. I spent about i $105 on all 5 inserts, then about another $100 to get them installed. i love the inserts, go all the way and get all 5, its well worth the money.

traction bar is too much for me especially since my car is more for autox and hpde at the moment. i just want a simple solution to get rid of wheel hop and for november for a rematch with my friend's hatch. i lost to a b20 93 civic hatch, these ctr cams i have really needs to be tuned to get optimal power.

The motor mounts definitely reduce wheel hop. But, more importantly to me, it improved throttle response significantly. It was always annoying to feel the engine torque back when you get on the pedal. Now, the car just goes, no delay. Great feeling.

Also, since the engine will no longer torque back and forth, the shifting is more precise because the linkage stays properly aligned.

The only possible negative effects of the inserts is the vibration. Yes, in the very, very long term the vibration can contribute to chassis degradation, but this shouldn't be significant enough for you to notice unless you have your Integra for twenty or thirty years.
