i just got a cusco rear strut bar for about $2.00 but its missing the piece at each end to bolt it to the chassis. anyone know if i could substitute the end pieces with ones from a cheap look alike or am i just f**ked and have to get one from cusco.

You can as long as the pieces will fit, but I would contact a Cusco dealer and see if they can get you the correct pieces.
