Hello everyone, Today is my first day here....I need advice.
I got this 96 Sped (Ls) ( I know it's slow) but I want to make it quicker...I don't need a rocket cause my girl drives it...But I wanna make it fast enough that she can blow off GSR's and eclipse's etc..... People always want to race that car cause of the exterior mods, I finally convinced her to let me do motorwork to it....what are my options???? Any suggestions????? turbo or N/A??? Please help

 

you should get more than 220 whp @ 8 psi if its tuned right

 

the car has about 100,000miles on it ... won't the turbo wreck the motor with that many miles???

 

um i wouldnt turbo a car w 100k miles to be honest -- and to "blow away" gsr's, especially modded ones, ur going to need some good engine work (cams,gears,im, and get a jdm 4-1 while at it, etc...) . i mean if your engine is in great condition (do a compression and leak down test) maybe you could try small boost -- but i wouldnt push it.

I wouldnt worry about how many miles are on it. As long as you take care of it, it should last a long time. I have 114K on my LS, with compression tests reading in the 130's!!, and I am going turbo in a couple of weeks...maybe i can blow my engine and get a new b18b

 

Yes it is a Manual trans.....and to the guy who said some sarcastic remark about blowing away GSR's.....I realize it's only a sped but it will stay even with stock GSR's for some reason y I don't know but It does......I just want my girl to go a little faster...If I want to smoke GSR's I'll just take the CL out.
