Default lsv problems ????

ok, heres the deal. car starts fine...warms up, idles fine and drives smooth. then it seems like when it gets a little hot the needle on my tach starts to jump around all crazy and soon after that it just dies out on me...with my foot on the peddle and everything. my tempature guage reads normal so i dont think its over heating. after letting it sit for a bit it will start back up again but only for a little while before it does it again. when i try to start it again it turns over and seems like it wants to start but it doesnt fire up. my other problem is that i cant rev past 6500...the rev limiter is set to 10000 and i have crower stage 1's and a new valve train. it seems a little wierd to me...i know theres power past 6500 so i really want to know what could be holding it back. any help is appreciated....thanks

First thing I would check would be the ICM(ignitor). That sounds like the problem. But your ecu has also been tampered with so that could be it also.

how is the rev limiter at 10k? what program/mod does this?
did this problem happen before the mod? can you reverse/take it off?
check all connections under hood?

we decided to check the screen on the vtec solenoid, we fould a bunch of what looked to me like metal shavings....and we also found a distributor wire that was barely connecting to the harness. the wire looked like it was just pushed in there without a clip. so now fopefully it will run right.

Sounds like a bad connection, check the wires for the vtec selinoid and oil pressure switch.
