Yes, an LSD is definitely worth it, especially if you're building a drag car.

When you say drag car I take it you mean its going to be only on the strip. Your best bet in that case would be just weld your differentall instead of spending money on a LSD.

Inside of your transmission are 2 parts that you weld together. Doing so makes both axels spin evenly no matter what. Thats easiest, cheapest way to get the best traction out of a drag car. After doing this the car wont be streetable.

You really thought he was building an all-out drag car?

and yes, obviously it is worth it ... unless you plan on getting a better limited slip like Quaife for example.

a little off topic on the lsd thing but i just wanted to pay so respect to hmotorsonline, when i bought my engine the service was extremely fast (in n out in like 10-15 minutes) and they are very friendly. They are definetely the way to go for an engine swap

dude just save the 300$ because the stock lsd is shitty newho and then buy you a good lsd like a quafe or phantom grip and put it in yourself its not hard just search for a howto in h-t but just save the money

quaifes are close to 900 dollars. i would just stick with stock LSD. you can still run really good times with open differential too.

true they are but then again if he needs to upgrade in the future he will be spending a total of 1200 instead of 900 correct?

You say a stock LSD is shitty, then mention phantom grip being good? wtf..

For hp most people will be making, and keeping it on the street, a stock LSD is fine.

I'm not sure how you can claim the stock LSD is shitty when Quaife won't even provide the torque bias ratio for their Torsen-style LSD. The stock LSD at least has a functionality check procedure beyond broken and not broken. A Quaife LSD may be able to handle more WHP than the ITR LSD, but that does not mean that it functions better as an LSD in terms of traction.
