I disagree. I'd go with the B16 tranny either way. There is a theory that by using a tranny with longer gear ratios (GSR tranny) on a turbo setup, then you will be able to accelerate more quickly by staying in boost longer. However with the closer gear ratios of a B16 tranny, you put less load on the engine in any given gear, allowing the engine to accelerate more quickly and pull through the gears more quickly, turbo or not. There is a lot of debate about this issue, but with almost every setup I've seen (turbo or otherwise), better times were achieved with the closer gear ratios.

I agree with Kendall. I think you'd only be slower with the B16 if you didn't have any traction.

I agree with Kendall and his explination, there was, has been, and I'm sure always will be people debating that topic.

But, as for the original question....what does he mean?
Is he asking if we prefer to put an LSD in a B16 tranny and use it over a B18C1?

Or is he asking do we prefer to install one in a B16 tranny because of simpler installation?

(those are just examples to gather more info out of his question and to be able to answer it properly)

I would put in LSD in any tranny, Traction is a good thing.

Yeah I don't get the question either. I have an LSD on my B18C1 tranny because that's what my GSR came with. If I had a b16 tranny I 'd still put an LSD in it..

Probably asking about the "ease" of installation..
