LS- Vtech problems
hey everyone i just recently told my friend i would help him with his integra i know nothing about these cars. He has a 1990 integra not sure what model. but he put a b18 block with a b16 head on it. it has a 1993 integra gsr computer in it because i pulled the numbers off of it. the car will run off of starter fluid. i checked/ remade and cleaned all of the grounds the VC, the transmission, and the thermostat grounds. i have spark and i have 12 volts to the injectors and the resistance is around 6ish. it has fuel pressure. i pulled the fuel rail out and zipped tied the injectors in and when i crank it it wont squirt any fuel. im at a loss here. i jumped the diagnostic plug and tried to read the CEL and the CEL just stays on and does not flash. the car will not run on its own. Please help
Thanks mike
Thanks mike
additional info: theres still a bunch of stuff disconected because i dont know where it goes. like vaccum lines and a few sensors i have a bunch of extra plugs. it was like a hack job motor swap its turning into a nightmare it might get junked soon
Sounds like you need to make sure everything is connected first! The factory engine harness should plug up to everything, only needing a couple additional wires run for the VTEC solenoid and a distributor jumper. I don't know how well a GSR computer will work here, most guys with an LS/V engine use a chipped P28. Also, a '90 Integra doesn't us a factory diagnosis plug, the stock ECU has an LED light on it that flashes codes. There is a plug in the kick panel that looks like a diagnosis plug but doesn't do anything, if you have a jumper harness for the GSR computer make sure you are using the diagnosis plug on that.
i think you need a new ecu.if there is no flash or if it stays on, that usually means the ecu is FAULTY.
and he should really be using the b16 ecu(im not positive on that one,but im sure someone can step in and confirm it.)

As I said before, most guys run a chipped P28 for an LS/V setup, though I think it should start with almost any VTEC computer. If you have another known good ECU available to use try it out. Simple as plug and play! If another computer doesn't work make sure the jumper harness is wired properly. Is the jumper home made or bought from a pro like RyWire?
