haha what? the head has too high compression?
because actually by using a GSR head you will raise the compression more than with a type r head because of the size of the combustion chamber
and FYI there are advantages to a type r head other than the name

thats the same thing i was thinking. i was like WTF?!? to the OP, i would recommend u don a shitload of reasearch and thinking before u attempt ur ls/vtec. then once u have somewhat of a feel for hondas then maybe attempt it.

u must first need a brain for the head u need. then put it to work. be smarter next time and use the search buttons. i see these damn threads almost everyday and it gets annoying

And I am sure you have some good solid information to back up this "opinion"?

I would say in stock form the the B16 head is better than the GSR head, but if you get head work done, then either one would be good. Just my opinion and if I remember right, the B16 is almost like the ITR with out the factory port and polish...

ok ill provide some info on this. in a sense, one of the heads is not better than the other. but, what i can tell u is a reputable head porter (i wanna say rlz) put a stock b16 head and a stock gsr head on a flowbench and the b16 flowed roughly 5 more cfm. not much of a difference but it does flow a tiny bit better. in my own opinion, i think both heads are about equal cause the majority of us that build motors dont keep our motors stock and end up putting in cams, port/polish, etc.
also, b16 and itr are not the same head. they are made from the same casting but the itr has different valvetrain, different cams, a better im, bigger tb, and a factory port job
