Default LS/Vtec Reliability?

I've done a search!! Anyhow, I have a 2.0L LSvtec, fully built by Import Builders with a GSR head. I'm wondering if it's as reliable as my old gsr setup?
My motor consist of:

Golden Eagle sleeves
Eagle rods
JE pistons (84.5mm)
Arp head bolts
Balanced and blueprinted
Portflow Head & valvetrain
Skunk2 Cams & Cam gears
Skunk2 IM
Stainless Steel Valves
Hondata Stage 2
CM stage 4 and Lightweight FW
RC 310 injectors
Aem Fuel Rail
Comptech Icebox
DC JDM
SMSP catalytic converter
2.5" piping mated to Turbo 5zigen Muffler

Reliability is my main concern. Opinions are welcomed! Thanks in advance

Can I ask one questions? Why would you do an ls/vtec if you plan to bore the buttom end? Thats only asking for trouble in the long run. GS-R oil pump, water pump, timing belt, gurdle, squirters are a must if you want it reliable. I know of plenty of people that came to me with blown motors because they simply slapped a vtec head on a ls buttom end. Its not that simple.

I forgot to mention, it does have a vtec oil pump, water pump and timing belt.
There was a miscommunication during my build up, resulting in me having a sleeved ls block.
With all this said, is my car going to be reliable? I don't plan on revving it higher than 8500.

I thought you had a sleeved and bored GSR? Oh wells, guess it was an LS-VTEC. I was hoping you had a sleeved/bored GSR so I could bug you on how well the setup worked. I think the highest mileage LS-or-CR-VTEC motors I've seen are about 30-50,000 miles. No info after that in how reliable it'll be from then on. HTH.

i had an ls/vtec setup about 3 years ago and i had no problems with it. it was a "stock" setup (except for the gsr oil pump that i added) and the block had 140,000 miles on it. i sold my old setup and opted for a fully built b20/vtec --- it has around 3500 miles on it. it'll all depend on how the setup is done and how the owner uses it.

my 2 cents.

Originally, I had opted for my B18c to be fully rebuilt. When I got there, it was a B18b instead.
Now I'm just wondering if it's as good as what I had wanted. I honestly don't do any drag racing, I just wanted a very strong street motor. My uses for it are basically daily driving. I baby all my cars.

Kong, so they didn't tell you ahead of time that they were building a b18b instead of a b18c for you? did you end up paying the same price? I'd personally like to know about such big changes, especially if it's costing me $8-$9k. Anyways, it seems like you've already taken the right precautions (e.g. vtec pumps, etc.) and since you don't plan on abusing it much, it doesn't sound like it should have any probs. I'd assume all the bearings were replaced and everything balanced too. A modified GSR girdle or a Z10 girdle would help. I'd do it personally cuz I always have bad luck so for me, it's almost a required insurance (damn my luck!). Did you get it dyno'd yet? Sounds like a wicked setup! So far, my plans are still w/ a sleeved/bored b18c block...but that's only cuz I plan to bang the crap out of it at the track as often as I can.

Yeah bro, I wasn't notified on the block exchange. Somehow, Jeff thought I had wanted the LS bottom end. But he assured me it would be reliable as my gsr, and actually benefitting me by supplying more torque.
All the bearings and everything was replaced, so hopefully this motor should last. I don't think they put in the block girdle, so I'll definitely ask.

I'll keep you updated on how the dyno goes, I'm dynoing it this Friday.

Yeah, I don't think Jeff's packages include a block girdle. He supplies lifetime maintainence on his engine packages tho, so that's a BIG plus! He says he checks the bearings every now and then and will replace them (I think free...you should ask for sure tho) if needed.

Check out the b20 girdle mod.. I have that kit now im selling.. It bolts on.. You just have to do some minor modifications to the girdle OR you can do it to the main caps. The article i wrote i did it on the main caps cause i didnt want to mess with the girdle. BUt its cheaper and easier to just mess with girdle.

Take a look.
