Default ls-vtec

I was planning on doing the ls-vtec but I wanted to get some opinions on what you guys think. I have the b18b1 in my 94 integra ls and was gonna go with the b18c1 so every part will fit fine in my engine bay. What should my compression be if I go N/A or turbo? What would I need to get everything working right and what would be my redline?

if you are planning on putting turbo on it then to make it a hell of a lot easier on you as far as tuning it, cost and just overall a troubles just keep the Ls engine and dont worry about the ls/vtec and just put turbo on it. Because when you have turbo then you have to re-tune it for vtec and all of that mumbo jumbo. ive never done it but i hear the tuning for turbo and vtec is quite a pain, but yeah if i was you i would just turbo your Ls

normally i would be all for n/a bc that what i am going for............but now i realize it is futile unless you have the big bucks.............rebuild block and turbo........will be faster than an n/a setup with same amout of money put in

What are your plans? How much HP do you want to make? Turbo or N/A?

I wanna go N/A if I do the ls-vtec most likely. I want close to 200 to the wheels or more but still a daily driver. I don't want a trailer bitch.

well if you really plan on doing a turbo id rather save for it and you'll hit that 200 A LOT easier. otherwise your looking at a pretty expensive NA build for an ls/vtec.

Well I heard all I need is pistons, head gasket, intake manifold with the head, and once completed and tuned it should push 190.

your gonna have to do some drilling and machine work as well.

shot peen your rods, balance the crank, machine the rods to accept the vtec pistons, get the stainless steel lines for the oil feed line for vtec, get a new headgasket, arp studs, maybe mill the head,

What do you think the estimated cost of that would be? Ballparked.

what exactly do you need to machine on the rods to accept vtec pistons? i need to know cuz mine are at the machine shop now.
and also, when you drill the hole for the alternator bracket for the knock sensor, do you go all the way through the block or not?
