LS Vtec??
I have a buddy selling me a GS-R VTEC head off a 97 GS-R with 50k and the ECU, he only wants 300 bucks for it, will this end up being an expensive projecT? or will i not need much more? I heard that LS/VTEC pushes out just as much HP as a Type- R, is this true?

Well here's the thing. It's all good and grand if you were to just swap the head and the ECU out, but here's the thing. To really reap the benefits from the head, you're going to want to get rid of that 9.2:1 Compression ratio. I'd highly recommend getting P30 JDM B16 pistons, PR3 (USDM B16) or ITR pistons are good as well, or if you want to go super-crazy, get some PCT pistons high 12.5+:1 compression.
You'll need to get the dowel pins moved on the GS-R head as well. Is he including the distributor and intake manifold too?

Do I have to get the head bored for the dowel's? what about the oil lines? if i dont have the intake manifold and distributor. can i still make it work? can i just bolt on the head, and swap the ECU? im on a low budget, ya feel me? haha, plus im still a novice, sorry if my questions might sound dumb
No, you don't get the head 'bored' the machine shop just has to move the dowel pins, plain and simple. The head has to be tapped and an oil line run from that to a NPST "T" fitting which goes where the oil sending unit is on the block. If you use a GS-R head, you really need a GS-R manifold, all the other B-series won't bolt up.

You can only choose two, the remaining other will be the consiquence.
