ls vtec
i put on the stock dizzy for my ls /vtec
so i could drive to my friends shop and have him help me to a odb swap on the correct dizzy ;P i wasnt happy about cutting off a ear and driving around on it all the time. i could just see the timing adjusting itself ;P

To simply answer your question, the distributor will in no way shape or form affect vtec engagement. Or as you put it 'kick in harder.' Whoever told you that deserves a swift kick in the noots!
