so i have a 99 LS with a jdm gsr with the LS trans. i want to get a NEW b16 trans (cheaper than new b18 trans)... how does that compare to a gsr or type r tranny?

 

now im not saying this from my knowledge. but when i asked this question i got a reply saying essentially the b16 tranny is nearly identical to the typer but without lsd.

you are just about right

 

b16 tranny is way better then gsr,....

please dont go put $1800-2000 towards a new tranny. just get a used one in good condition for MUCH less. a b16 tranny would make your car much quicker compared to the LS
