i know people will get all crazy on this subject but oh well. just drop a b16a motor and tranny into the car, it'll be the cheapest dohc vtec you'll find.

do you think b16 will be able to handle this car because it is a smaller motor it will be very slow from the start

well what do you want, peak power and numbers or usable power and torque

People over exaggerate the B16s lower torque. Do whatever you can find for cheaper, or just do what you want. As long as you don't have an LS tranny you will be fine. The tranny makes the motor, which a lot of people seem to forget.

Do you have exhaust, or just muffler?

Bolt on's kinda help. But I also vote B16.

Either rebuild or pick up a new long block for cheap. I prefer to just spend the extra money and get a long block with lower mileage so I can have full peace of mind, but a rebuild is fine too.

You could get a B16 tranny if you want the car to feel quicker.

What year is your car?

Also think boosted B18's hold better than a B16.

What does that even mean?

B16's are harder to swap into an integra than any b18.
To my knowledge, the mounts dont line up right.

If I were you, I would just rebuild, or replace your ls and boost it. Best bang for the bukc

Do an LS Vtec. B16b head, B18C pistons and you are good!

Maybe they should put a filter on for it like the F-word. Everytime somebody writes "Vtech" it should alter it to say "I'm a moron"

Excellent idea in my opinion.

Actually I think people should get automatic 2-day ban on posting everytime they say "VTECH" instead of VTEC. If you can't even spell the technology right you really don't belong on this forum to do anything but read.

hey man i wouldn't yank the motor just yet, look into buying a b16 head (with some nice arp head studs, new gasket)and do a ls/vtec conversion. maybe some new pistons and rods (also bearings)i would say some nice 9:1 then piece together a turbo kit and you will be good to go.

or if you want some cheap ideas, different tranny (i would go with gsr if you are planning to boost) some nice dc-sports header (singluar), full tune-up (cap, rotor, wires, plugs) a full cat-back exhuast, a new intake manifold. not really being able to gain a lot of hp for cheap.

You make that sound so easy.

you guys are dumb... he said hes NEW to hondas, he looking for INEXPENSIVE power. its up to him if he wants to swap a b16 or not, itll cost him some money. and dont even bring up a LS/V combo...

if u want cheap power, just turbo the bitch, shut up and have fun.
