well my motor is approaching 170K, and i have a chance to get my hands on a Rebuilt 95 LS head, its a bare head only comes with valve springs for 130$. I have a new Gates timing belt and an LS waterpump sitting in my garage. I was wondering if it would be worth it to replace the head , timing belt and water pump without touching the block, and if thats a bad idea, can i mate it with a JDM block, and how much they usually run. thanks alot. bare ls head for 130??
if you dident know ls heads or should i say ls engine cost next to nothing. the most expensive thing is the trannie. the heads and blocks are dirt cheap
they go for about $50 complete minus the dizzy
ls blocks complete go for about $200

ok so ur motor is near 170k. does it run like poo and/or burn any oil?

if it aint broke dont fix it.
