eagle rods...
i decided to goto 84 because (i believe 85 is max) just incase one of my cyclinders blows (knock on wood) i can bore it out .5, or even more. but i figured if i get a blown cylinder it might do more that just .5-1mm damage, but u never know..
and also do they make a girdle for LS.. maybe it was something else, but i thought they made it only for VTEC engines.. hmm, someone please tell us
thanx

you can make a GS-R block girdle fit onto the LS bottom end like i did. OR you can purchase one from Z10 but it's pretty expensive......for the cost of the Z10 girlde you can buy a used GS-R one and have it fitted onto the block......
here's my GS-R girdle on the non-VTEC bottom end:

Shwing, I have stock in that block.. ( I bought his LS head and Im sure he is using the money to pay for some of it.
so the GSR will fit the LS.. would there be and modding.. or will it just slip on, im sure u have ran the motor with it on.. does everything clear and run fine
thanx.. oh and yeah i just heard about he z10.. how much do they go for these days..??
<--who doesnt wanna search for the price of the z10 girdle.
the last time i checked the Z10 girdle was about 300-400 bucks i think? (correct me if i'm wrong?) and that doesnt include the 6 GS-R main bolts, the GS-R oil pickup, GS-R windage tray and GS-R oil pan that you need to make it all work.
the GS-R crank girdle can be found used for much less than that. you can buy just the girdle from the acura dealer for just over 100 bucks......
only advantage to the Z10 girdle is that it's much stronger

Sell me the block all i need is the sleeved block you can keep the pistons and rods. I’m trying to fiend a LS block to send off to GE ASAP. Blocks looks nice and yes get the GSR block girdle much cheaper than the Z10.

my Z10 block girdle costed 235$(that is the shot peened version), 215$ is regular price. you only need GSR/ITR windage tray and oil pump pick up and 3 middle GSR main bolts to make it fit. All B series oil pans are the same.
I used custom ARP bottem end studs on my shortblock...
Got a GSR girdle w/ oil pan for $200 + shipping... just in case...
The GSR girdle needs slight machining to fit the LS, but not much.

Thanks for all the free wallpaper, your set-ups look out of control

Teken: Please explain... I understand the principle and the end results, but would like to know how you *know* this made a difference...

Knife edging the crank reduces the rotational mass and requires less energy to rotate, this translated into instantly acheiving redline on my launch. Not now but originally I had been running a cam setup that only started making power from 4500 to 9500, the sooner I got to this range the sooner I started making power. Have less weight not puts less stress on the crank, but also the block (especially with no girdle) and bearings."The thinner counterweights also cut parasitic power losses normally encountered when rotating through splashing oil in the oil pan. " Not something absolutely necessary but still nice to have regardless

I asked the guy who did mine, but after owning his machine shop for 30 years he can only speak in binary, so I don't even know.
