My brother has a 1990 DA with a B18C1. It idles at 900rpm but when the A/C is turned on, idle drops down to 100rpm and car feels like it's going to stall. Do you guys have any ideas on why the idle drops so low? Thanks.

 

I dont have the answer, but mine has been doing the same thing. I have a b16a1 in my 91 DA, maybe they dont like swaps??

 

iacv - its either bad or when you installed the tb you covered the hole w/ the gasket(thats what i did)

the reason is that the ac puts more strain on the eng when its on since the pulley is engaged.

i would also check you belt tension form the crank pulley to your ac compressor.

 

yeah this is a common problem for hondas. in my old civic, when i would unlock the power locks, the RPMs would fluctuate

 

thanks guys. I'm going to check the belt tension, I think that is the problem but I'll check out the TB too.

Find a fix for this one? Brother has the same problem with a91 d, b16a,pr3 ecu and im still looking for a fix. Find anything?
