I have a '93 DA9 RS and I'm swapping out the worn mounts for new ones from Rock Auto. (I thought about innovative mounts, but I don't have $300 for mounts )
Here's the issue, every one of the mounts sold aftermarket doesn't have the OEM nut tack welded to the mount.
Here's the OEM mount
Replacement mount:
Am I okay to go to Lowes/Home Depot and grab a Grade 8 or higher nut and use the OEM bolt? Or is there any reason to not do that.
Yes, You should be fine to do that.
It appears to be a fine threaded bolt (and therefore, nut). It may be difficult to find at a local retailer.
You could attempt to remove the original nut from the old mount. That kind of depends on how well it is tack welded...
Just make sure the nut is the same grade as the bolt. The bolt head will likely have the grade stamped into it. Probably 8.8. Possibly 12.9.
