lastest dyno, wow!
2000 Acura Integra GSR Sedan
22k miles
Power mods:
Comptech Ice Box and Drop in Filter (stock air hose),
Comptech SS 4-2-1 Header,
Comptech SS 2.25" Catback Exhust,
Carsound 94005 (2.25") cat.
1998 Integra Type R Intake and Exhaust Cams
Hayame (6 bolts) cam gears.
A'pexi VAFC
Blue line is everything above BEFORE TUNING.
Red Line (huh!) AFTER TUNING
Numbers are at the wheels, huh!
Settings:
Ignition timing 17 deg.
Intake cam gear +2
Exhaust cam gear -1
VTEC cross over point 5000 rpm.
VAFC is almost a waste of money! The only thing it did was switch the V-tec point to from 4400 rpm to 5000 rpm, which got rid of the bog and dip in power. Besides that, nothing else.
The fuel was perfect and it did not even need to be mess with, but the guy recommended to lean it a bit at low rpm's which will help accleration and it would not be dangerous to the motor, so I agreed.
Does anyone know how to post this plot?
Maybe I can e-mail it to someone and post it for me. Let me know.
Before tuning:
166.4 whp, 118.3 tq
after tuning,
176.2 whp, 124.8 tq (wow! I did not expect that much)
I made power throughout the whole rpm range, 3k rpm to 7800 rpm!!!!
max gains:
11.2 whp at 7070 rpm, 8.3 tq at 7070 rpm
The guys at the shop said the engine was very strong and I could be makinf 190 whp with JDM header, S2 IM and 64 mm TB!!!! Who needs a SC? hehe!
Who loves ya, baby?

Very nice!
Damnit..you got me beat by 6 WHP! You TQ is lacking by...ohh...19 FT-LBS
The VAFC is a good tool..I wount consider it a "waste" of money. I have used it extensivly to tune my air/fuel ratio with nice results. Just depends on the application and mods.

Re: lastest dyno, wow! (1fastGSR)
I went to Carbpy in Houston!!
They are simply excellent!!!!
The are expensive though!!!
$200 and it only took 1.5 hrs!!!! I argued, but they said that had to tune the gears and the VAFC, but they really did not do squat to my VAFC, except change the VTEC cross over point which I could have done myself. Oh, well. $200 plus driving time and gas money for 10 whp ain't bad at all!!! I wish I could get all the HP I wanted for just $20 per whp!!!!!

Re: lastest dyno, wow! (red97gsr)
When it says 'STD horsepower', is that the same as SAE horsepower? Or is it not corrected?
I didnt notice that.
STD (Standard) is NOT the same as SAE HP.
For example..my car put down 170.8 WHP and 143.7 TQ SAE.
If I were to use "STD" instead of SAE...teh numbers would be 173.1 WHP and 145.6 TQ.

Re: lastest dyno, wow! (HX_Guy)
well, I did not notice that!
Either way I am VERY satisfied. I am still making over 170 whp which was my goal!

Re: lastest dyno, wow! (1fastGSR)
Yep..still gained 10 WHP from tuning so its all good..and you should still be over 170 WHP.
Hey...do you have the file...or can you get it? Sometimes..depending on conditions and stuff...STD can be lees then SAE...so maybe youre making even more?
Get the dyno file and email it to me..I have the Winpep software and can convert it to SAE.

Re: lastest dyno, wow! (1fastGSR)
Yes..the numbers are corrected...no one said they arent.
But..when dispalying a dyno run..there are 5 options.
SAE
DIN
EEC
STD
UNCORRECTED
Each gives a slightly different result..but SAE is the one thats is commonly used.
Call Carboy and tell them to send you SAE graph...or have them send you the dyno file.
