Koni installation
I did a search for this, but didn't find anyone with a decent answer. So...I just got my Koni Yellows in, and in the coming week I plan to install them along with my Type-R springs. My question is, the instructions that came with the Yellows are very vague, and merely show a bunch of pictures. So where can I go to find detailed instruction of an install involving some Koni Yellows and perhaps some sport springs? Thanks for all the help!
Check out http://www.c-speedracing.com for some instructions. You can use any instructions for spring/shock combo install. It's all the same for Koni's, KYB's, etc. Koni Yellow's have another perch setting but you can easily see what to do there.
It's actually a pretty simple process even if you haven't done it before. Jack up your car and secure it with jack stands. Take off your wheel and look at your spring/shock assembly. It should almost be self explanatory. Use that link I provided to help you out.
Good luck. Some bolts might be a bitch to get off. Air tools and penetrating liquid will help a lot.

Thanks everyone. I was mainly talking about all the washers and bolts that came with the shock, but I guess those will become self-explanitory as well throughout the installation. Thanks again.
I installed koni sports on my car a few months ago, I wish I had taken pictures cause i never found a really good installation guide either. The instructions that come with the shocks are pretty horrible, they dont clearly explain any single part of the installation. As far as the washers and bolts go make sure to make a chart or somethin of how it was when you pull the assembly out just to make sure you didnt miss anything cause if you forget to put one of the washers under the top of the assembly your shock will probably come out your hood.
As far as the actual installation goes it isnt too bad, there are only about 4 bolts holding the assembly in place and they are all easy to find, if you are replacing stock springs you will need a spring compressor to squeeze them down in order to compress the shock and pull it out. I'll click the email box for if a reply is made on this thread so if you run into a problem during the install post again on this same thread and i'll see if i can help you out.
once you get them on koni's are the best, you'll notice the difference

yeah the instructions on the Koni's are basically pictures but then again its not that hard..after you look at everything its pretty much self explanatory (along w/ the instructions)... Koni pretty much supplies you w/ all the new washers, top nuts (lets hope their the right size.. some people got the wrong size top nuts), ID spindle, etc.. the only things you re-use is the rubber bushings, bumpstop, dustboot, and top shock mount (assuming your putting in new springs too....) make sure you have the washer under the dustboot and theres one over it too or else your shock is going to extend out w/o the washer to hold it in place/under the shock mount/bushings, etc.. you'll have to get a drill to enlarge the dustboot so that it fits over the Koni's new thicker shock rod.... and use the new Koni supplied ID spindle (the metal cylindrical thing that goes between the 2 upper and lower rubber bushings on the shock top mount... other than that install is pretty simple/self explanatory... follow the picture and look/study or printout the links below and you should be good to go... get some PB Plaster, Liquid wrench or some kind of penatrating lubricant and a spring compressor...

yeah, just follow the exploded diagram that came w/ the Konis... I had never installed these before and I had no problems. Make sure you get the smaller of the 2 washers under the dustboot, and the larger one above the dustboot. Also don't forget to put the plastic split washer over the shock rod (sits at the bottom of the piston, on top of the shock body).

I was just looking over the struts today, and I have a few more questions. First, how do you move the spring perch lower? I see there is a removable ring that fits into those notches, but how do I get that off to move it to the lowest notch (thats the one I want if I want the biggest drop possible right?)? Second, I was twisting the now on top to make it firmer and softer and such, but it seemed as if it never stopped rotating. Koni says to stop when you feel resistance, but I definately never encountered any "resistance." Typically how many times does it turn? Thanks.
to drop a perch position.. you'll see the spring perch, a cup under it.. and under the cup (the cup was covering it) is a ring... get a screwdriver and lightly pry the ring so it slips out of the spring perch groove on the shock body then you can move the ring down to the lower perch that you desire.. make sure that the ring/C-Clip is in the groove on the lower perch all around.. then slip the retaining cup back over the ring/C-Clip and then put your spring perch back over it... I think you should be adjusting the firmness setting after its all in the car (installed)
