Default Koni blew a seal... help

I have Koni yellow adjustable coilovers on the 99 gsr and my front passenger side shock blew a seal and is leaking bad... Is it still driveable until I can get a new one or do I need to park it? Where is the cheapest place to buy the shocks? The warranty doesn't work because I'm not the original owner?

wow, a koni blowing up.. ive heard nothing but good things about koni yellows. Its probably still driveable but then again i havent seen the leak in person. I dont know, just look at it and you should know if its driveable or not.

The clear oil is coming out of the top of the strut and leaking onto the ground, about a 5 in circle in diameter in about 15 minutes...

its still driveable, except the ride will be much harsher on that side since the shock is completely useless for rebound now. check with koni first to see where warranty policy, then if thats a no-go check with the sponsors on this board in the sponsor classifieds and see who has the best deal on a single koni shock. but it IS driveable, but dont expect a nice ride

http://www.shox.com has a pretty good price for the koni sports, and yeah, it'll kinda be drivable, just a bit harsh. I have to honestly say that this is the first time EVER I've heard of a koni blowing.

Might want to PM CRX Lee, he is the Director of Motorsports for Koni North America, he is always very helpful.

They do blow sometimes, but they can be revalved/repainted for like $100, so it might be worth it to get them redone by Koni, Truechoice, or PropartsUSA.

as long as he never sent them in for warranty u should be okay.. they wouldnt know if that other person wasnt your friend were a gift from him to you.. do u have the original reciept?

i warrantied my koni yellows with ground control coilovers.. i was really surprised they were still able to warranty them..

had to fill out some paperwork... cc# to which they charged half price(to verify the card works) and some other documentation.. sent me brand new shocks.. then i sent back the old ones in the same boxes.. then they credited the card back after they got the old shocks.. easy as pie..

they're super responsive.. same day email response.. u can also call them..
