Default Knocking

I did a search and i cant find what i want. At idle and lower rpm's (maybe higher rpm's, but the engine noise overpowers it) i hear a knocking sound. It only happens when the car is cold though. Once it heats up the sound goes away. Does anybody know what this could be???

So is this Engine Knock we're talking about, or is it some random mechanical sound? If it's engine knocking, check your timing and/or use some higher octane gasoline. Sorry, but I have no other suggestions.

It could be the throw out bearing in your tranny, i had the same problem in my crx, actually they said at first it was the throwout bearing but after that they said it was something else, and i had to say hello to an all new tranny

I suggest you try some higher octane gas.

i have a 95 rs with 103K on it and it sorta does the same thing
the knoking sound can be heard at idle right? and its sorta ticking too?

i had the noise louder even when warm but after i adjusted my valves it sounded better cold and the noise was gone when it is warm

i'm gonna readjust the valves again soon cause i'm not sure if i did them good enough, maybe the sound will go away when its cold too

let know if you find that its something serious
