Kill Switch?
Hey guys i was talking to a friend of mine about Kill Switches. He said to just pull out the ECU Fuse from under the hood. It Shuts off the ECU so the engine wont even crank? Is that a good idea or is it better just to get a Kill switch? Or is it the Same thing?
Any half decent theif will pop your hood first and check a fuse box. That being said any half decent theif will also spot a kill switch in action and search it out.
The basics of car related anti-theft is... the more you have the harder your car is to steal. Go with both.

something i just recently thought of (trust me i think a lot now that my teg is gone) ...as for an added layer of security, for those who know where the main relay is, for all the times i changed mine i just let it dangle on the metal cage beneath the dash instead of rethreading the 10mm bolt... you could simply remove the main relay everytime you leave your car, its small, portable, and easily accessed. at least you dont have to pop your hood to pull a fuse. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by superdat1 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">well, one is more convienent than the other. i use a kill switch. still not 100% secure though, as nothing is. can you see yourself always pulling the fuse? or just flick a switch</TD></TR></TABLE>

Yeah got a compustar 2 way with auto start. I wiykd feel more safe parking in a garage instead of behind my house thats for sure. I might have to put in a kill switch.

I wouldn't recommend pulling the ECU fuse, as everytime you do you'll reset your ECU and it will have to relearn all the settings again. That and poping your hood everytime you park is a dead give away to any thief watching your ride. Remember if someone wants your car they are probably watching your every move, and if everytime you park your struggling reaching over your seat or under your dash ect... when they get in those will be the first places they go to. So when picking a place for your switch make sure it's well hidden but that getting to the switch is not so obvious to someone watching you.
