Default just get ctr cams installed

well i got my ctr cams installed today. i guess my cars has a lil more power top end. but your guys were right i think there is a lost of power in the midrange. i guess i need other mods to help out the cams. this is really the only mod i have on my car besides an intake. i would think i can get a lot more power from the cams if i had an exhaust system and a header. what do u guys think i should get next for my car to help out the cams. camgears? a header?

I would guess that an intake, exhaust, and header would compliment your ctr cams.

To make up the midrange loss get some adjustable cam gears, VAFC and adjustable fuel pressure regulator and fuel gauge. Then get it tuned. A good tuner can adjust the gears for midrange power.

h/e/cat and vafc should be first if you dont plan on getting her tuned anytime soon.
you can play with vtec on your vafc to attempt to eliminate the loss in power - When you are close to tuning time, id consider a Skunk2 IM, and gears.

Just a quick OT question... how does the B16A drive with the LS tranny? I'm just curious.

CTR cams waste of money!! all the cash you are going to spend to maximize the power out of those cams its pretty much a worthless upgrade!!

i had a b16 trannie before and now i'm useing an ls trannie. well i was geting about 18-19mpg with the b16 trannie now with the ls trannie i get about 23 mpg. as for loss in power i dont feel that there was that much of a lost in power maybe just a lil. after i change to the ls trannie i can still beat stock ls integras. i kind of like the ls trannie cuz the gas millage is much better and i dont think there is really is a big lose in power, but i think because of the ls trannie the rpm drops too much from 1st to second gear. sometimes i have trouble staying invtec from first to second gear. i have to redline my car all the way in order to stay in vtec from 1st to 2nd

dude honestly. You are starting to sound very one sided and not open minded.

please explain why ctr cams are not good. and let me guess, you think skunk2 anything is better than ctr cams.

please tell us with all the given factors: reliability, price, & performance. that skunk2 is in everyway better?

I would also like to see a dyno of how the skunk2's stage 1 (comparable to ctr cam) does is the midrange against the ctr cam? i know stage 1 make more top end power. but how does the WHOLE area under the curve look?

if you are going to jsut post random banter on how skunk2 is superiour to every comparable cam then you better be able to back up your **** talking with factual data. (as in dyno graphs and 1/4 and road race times)

please go demonstrate your mightyness on some other board (clubsi or rsxworld) would appreciate your great knowledge that you have to offer.

and yes, I can take any fruggen weak *** flame war you want to bring to me. You will lose and back down before I even have a hint of flinching to your weak sauce posts

the butt dyno isnt very accurate.
but you do have to spend a lil more money if you want to see the potential of the cams.

cam gears are partly only needed if your tq isnt flat. cam gears help move the power to different parts of the power band.

of course getting a decent header and good flowing exhaust will help your whole power band.

maybe go to a local dyno day and get some cheap dynos laid down. then look at what you are doing (shape of tq curve, and a/f ratio through the rpm band) and see where you need to improve
