Which jack
Which jack and jackstands would you reccomend? The one in European car by AC Hydraulics looks really good... I want something thats of really good quality, maybe not for 400$ though. The 2 ton at sears was cheap but is it any good? Comments and opinions please. Thanks.

Re: Which jack (paste)
i have a $35 jack from pep-boys and it does what i need it to do, if you want to pay for something that is lighter and maybe lifts higher, then go for it, i've had mine now for 3 years and believe me i use it ALL the time, imo jacks are jacks, as for jackstands get a pair that adjust hight just by lifting them and lower by lifting an arm, it makes adjustments easy

Re: Which jack (paste)
here is the sequence I bought my jacks in...
2.5 ton normal jack.. lift height around 15" and 2 ton jack stands... my car is lowered.. it didn't lift high enough... I bought this because I was in college and didn't have a lot of money to spend on jack and jack stands... although this set still works I don't use it much....
next I bought a Lincoln 3 ton SUV jack.. it lifts like 21" or so also got a pair of 3 ton jack stands...
guess which set I use all the time and which set is my backup/collects dust mostly...
if you want a nice jack Lincoln jacks are really nice but they'd be pushing your price limit...
sears has a sale this week I think (sale and 10% off) they have a 3.5 ton SUV jack and free jack stands for $90 I think... (reg price is like $120)
they also have sales every few weeks on their 3 ton jack w/ free 3 ton jack stands for $50 (reg. price is $50 for the jack and $20 for the jack stands)
if you have a Costco membership they sell 3 ton/3.5 ton (depends on store and available stock) for about $70...
just a few choices.. but I wouldn't bother w/ the little 2 ton or 2.5 ton jacks if you can afford better.. they don't lift high enough IMO and are hard to get under my lowered (2") car...
