jacking up a car ? jack recommendation
hi, my car has coilovers and it isn't super dumped yo !@ but it low to the point where my puny jacks will not raise it high enough to get jack stands under it. I know someone else has this problem to. Do you have a jack that raises high enough, where did you purchase and how much ?

Re: jacking up a car ? jack recommendation (nijia555)
I'd just get a regular floor jack... they make ones for low cars but they're more expensive....
Just drive up on some wood or bricks to get it high enough to get the jack under it...

Drive your car u over a brick and place a floor Jack under it. I recommend the Craftsman SUV jack. It will raise the Car to like 22 inches Plenty of room to get the Jack stands under there. http://www.sears.com/sr/produc...43000

Re: (pdiggitydogg)
I went floor jack shopping 2 weeks ago.
What i was concerned about?:
1. Price
2. Clearance.
I was looking at Harbor Freight/Sears/Costco.
- Costco and Harbor Freight both had aluminum "racing floor jacks" but they were all $150 or more. The clearances were good though. They were about 3.5" to 17.5"
- The other Harbor Freight jacks went from 5" to 19.25" and was $54 or 5.75" to 20" for $90
- Then i went to Sears... they had a jack that lifted from 5.5" to about 19.75" that was $50. They say it goes to 21" but it was less.
- Then i went to Costco.
Their jack was 4" to 21" (actually more like 22") and was just $80. It also was the cheapest in its supported weight class. (3 1/2 tons).
Sears' 3 1/2 ton jack is $120. Harbor freight's 3 ton jack is $90 and up.
Conclusion: I bought the Costco jack. It has the lowest clearance (4") next to the exspensive aluminum jacks (3.5"). Costco has the easiest/best return policy(anything happens to it for any reason, they'll replace it for you w/ a new one). It raised the highest in it's supported weight/price category (22").
- All of the jacks were made in China.

Re: jacking up a car ? jack recommendation (all stock)
I picked up this aluminum racing jack 2 weeks ago. It's exactly like the one Harbor Freight sells.
3.5" - 17.5" lifting range
weighs only 35 lbs
The funny thing is that I bought it in a computer store.
This jack has a 3.5" min height which was able to clear and slide under my car when it had a 2.25" drop in the front.

If the jack you were going to get from Sears was a Craftsman, they would replace it for life also!

Best jack for the money. You may have to flush the fluid every now and then, but for the price and weight you can't complain.

Re: jacking up a car ? jack recommendation (toxicshit)
Never had a problem here
Just jack the car in the front or the back and slide the stands underneath, but you do have to jack it up a lot more since your car is lowered, just keep at it, you'll get it.
I'm hope you're still not using the OE jack, that thing is piece of ****, any aftermarket jack will do just fine, got mine for $20 bucks, no complaints here

Yep, I was just about to say that. Every craftsman power tool that my dad has bought from sears had a good warranty, but not the unlimited lifetime no questions asked warranty.
