intro and info request
Hi everyone,
I'm new here as my avatar shows. I have a MT '91 integra GS. I've been lurking for a little while, checking the archives and peoples posts. I was the unfortunate victim of theft.
What happened was that I drove to school and while I was in class someone broke into my car and stole my ECU. They took nothing else except that, not even my radar detector that was in the glove compartment. So now my key doesn't work in my drivers side door and my ECU is missing. Here is what I know and would like to be corrected if I'm wrong. The motor is a B18A1, OBD0, PR4, and it's a manual transmission car. What other info might I need before I buy a ECU? Where can I get an ECU and possibly a couple door locks?

Thanks,
Paul

When you're no longer a trial user, you can usually find what you're looking for in the classifieds here on Honda-Tech. Also check on ebay, and in local junkyards.
Welcome to Honda-Tech, by the way.

You have all of the info you need right there. Good on you for searching before asking. Door locks may be difficult. I would suggest going to the Honda dealership and asking them what they can do for you. If you got some door locks for another car, you would have to use 2 keys. I don't know much about locksmithing ****, so I'm not a solid source of info on this.
I hope whoever stole your **** gets caught. Good luck, and welcome to Honda-Tech.

after your probationary period on here, the classifieds are a great section to find stuff. Other than that, ebay is also a good source. You can maybe check your local salvage yards in your area and find some pretty cheap.
Thanks for the welcome. I don't have a dealer near me so I think the next best thing to try is the junkyard. But since they stole my ECU, I doubt that there will be any at the wrecking yard. if not ebay doesn't seem like a bad place to try to buy. they seem to be going for about $50-60. I just wanted to make sure my information matched between what my car is and what I think my cars ECU should be. On the other hand if I wait to get into the classifieds then that is less gas I have to pay for.

I would go to Acura with about the door locks. With your VIN number they can get you matching door lock drums as your existing ones. so then you don't need two keys. It will probably run you 100 at least though. I'm pretty sure on that. But always call first and ask them.
