Integra window tinting
Hi everyone,
I am positive that this issue has been raised before but using the search facility I cannot find any of the previous posts.
The integra has an issue when tinting windows, particularly on the rear window from what I can remember. Can someone please explain the problem and how to overcome or get around it. I'm considering getting my windows tinted before summer (its winter here at the moment) and would like the best result possible.
Thanks
Mike

I looked into this earlier. The bigest problem with any hatchback is to get a good seam and buble free application. since the window is wider than most window tint and it has a compound curve it makes instalation more difficult. If you go to a good shop you should be just fine. Make sure they warranty their work and specifically ask about the rear window. Many places will go at it differently but any good shop should be able to make it look good.
The problem with the back of an Integra is the black dots. You will have a hard time getting a good seal between the tint and the dots. If you are gonna do it yourself you need to make sure you go over them dots with the squeege many times over to get all the air out. Do the back in two sheets. I heard from someone here that you can just tint the part without the blackdots and then spray the part with the dots with a special daRk spraypaint. Heres a pic of my back with limo black.

First of all go to a good shop to have your windows done, unless you have a hook-up on some good tint. Not Pep-Boys, Trak-Auto crap!!! When I had mine done, they did it in one layer. Then at the top where the black dots are, I let it dry for a few days, then very very carfully took a exacto-knife and cut that piece of tint off then went a local vinyl shop and had them cut a piece of black vinyl to cover the dots up. It looks really good I think and it has lastest a long time. Hope this helps.
Thanks guys ... I thought the problem had something to do with the black dotties.
Of course I WILL take to my car to a professional shop to have tinting done (I wouldnt dream of putting that purple bubbly DIY crap on my windows!!) .. just wanted to make sure that they'd do it right. Wasn't sure if the dots had to be removed, not covered, tinted or what. Personally I like the sound of your idea best Teken ... full coverage ... and professional looking.
Cheers
