car starts just fine...but the car will not go into gear at all...tryied heating up car still nothing?? any ideas

 

does the car go into gear when the car is not on?

have your checked your tranny fluid?

yes, the car does goes into gear when not started
i havnt checked the fluid yet, is there a resivour where i could check it? or do i have to pull the bolt to check the level becuz i know on automatics its ez to check the fluid

 

one of my bois had the same problem but it was wid a dsm.....we tried bleeding his clutch master cylinder but didnt work......so now we think its either the throw off bearings or a bad clutch master cylinder all together.......we are still trying to figure out wat it is....iono if that helped any

 

have you checked the clutch cable? my cable slipped and basically kept the clutch engaged the whole time even though it felt like the pedal was working fine.

 

well given that the car goes into gear when its not on..and it will go but when u bring it outa first it just locks up again i dont think its a shift linkage problem..we are gunna change the tranny fluid tomorrow and see what that will do...if theres still a problem then i dunno......he is military and is only home for 10 days..so maybe we'll get his car into honda..he is gunna sell anyways so..yea...
