well...parts-wise a Gen 3 will offer you the most for the cheapest price. Gen 3 integras are from 94-01. 98-01 have the newer body style, but the 94-95 have OBDI which means programming the ECU will be much easier. I'd say go with a GS-R which has the B18C1.

All of the above is easily obtainable information. Build on it.

I think it all depends on what u want out of the car, but a good foundation is the 94-95 GS-R's they are OBD1 and because they are a bit older, will be a lot more affordable to purchase, although mileage may be kinda high. Besides, you can always pick up parts on this site used to change it to a 98+ exterior. The GS-R is a fun, and relatively fast car as it is, and the aftermarket following is enormous for the third gen tegs. And type R's a re nice but i don't know how easy they are to find within whatever budget u might have. I personally have an LS, so really i'd say all the third gen tegs are good buys but for overall i think a GS-R is a good candidate for a project car regardless of mild to wild.

for racing get a cheap '95 RS shell, and buy a built B18C1 engine.
The rs is lighter, and stiffer cause it has no sunroof.

if i were you and wanted to race, i'd go with a 92-93 gsr, they got the looks(2nd gens **** all over 3rds):

the gsr's have VTEC with 160 bhp, best of both worlds. toss a stage 2 turbo in there and everybody will bow to you....

i think they're about 100lbs lighter than the 3rd gens as well.

don't listen to the crap about aftermarket support, you'll be able to find anything you're looking for no problem on your 2nd gen
