Ok my cousin just bought a 95 LS, and he wants to put a VTEC head on it, how much Hp does that give him once the VTEC head is installed?

 

run a search for ls vtec. There are more than 300 threads of people's experiences/problems.

 

ls/vtec is a very good motor if it's built right.horsepower really can't be known unless you tell us what head your using.even then it is just an estimit. if you were in the ny area i would tell you go to my boy millers shop, nrg tech builds some monsters out here.

 

Well we can do some simple math here

LS motor = 140hp
GSR motor = 170hp

Most of that power is made from the VTEC head. I am sure some has to do with compression ratios also but I would say 20 more horse than stock LS.

cause i heard it gives like a extra 30hp to the crank...

plus I got a call from the insurance company saying that my Civic is totalled so, I guess I'll have to start over from sratch all over again.....so I guess I'll get another Civic and make it a LS/VTEC...has anyone on here done that yet...as u can tell by the avart that I had a coupe civic..and does anyone know where I can get the LS motor and tranny at for a good price?
