Integra GSR cam cap bolt question!
ok so im putting my cams in and i noticed that i dont have any cam cap bolts for my gsr head. Now if i find the dimensions of the bolts that i need for the caps, then can i just buy some nice like grade 8 bolts or something or do i have to buy oem acura ones? just wondering because i can get those bolts at lowes for like 2 dollars a bag versus buying them from acura for 50-60 dollars. please let me know asap! wanting to put my car back together

DON'T cheap out on internal bolts seriously what sounds cheaper $60 or 300 for a new head ?(assuming VTEC). I'd avoid junk yard bolts only as you never know if they were torqued correctly.

i see what your saying. but idk the part numbers. ive looked online at some diagrams but i cant figure out which ones i need, the diagrams are slightly unleeding. do you have the part numbers that i need?

lol how much torque does it take to break a cam cap bolt? not much from what i've read.
not seeing any that are reasonably priced on fleabay. i wouldnt advocate using junkyard head bolts though theoretically they could be measured. i went with the $30 fleabay head bolts but i'm strictly stock (and broke).

I just did my head-gasket last weekend and I snapped the 12mm bolt at the factory spec 20lbs. I was able to get the snapped bolt out using a cold-metal chisel, notching it, and used a flat-head to unscrew the broken bolt. I ended up torquing it to 17lbs.

i remember reading a thread relatively recently about this. somewhere in there they changed the bolts and some of them break at 20 so its kinda a common thing. i think the ones that came with the heads were good but if you buy them now from honda you get the weaker ones, it was something like that.
worst case im sure you can buy a parts head that like dropped a valves or something for not too much money.
