Default Integra GSR bogs down

Hello everyone! Really need help big time. I am sure that someone had this problem before but I cannot seem to find the fix.

I have a 98 GSR and it randomly bogs down at low rpm. Sometimes on first gear or sometimes at second gear. Car will bog down so hard that it is close to a stop then would suddenly jerk and accelerate (like a turbo just kicked in).

spark plugs are new, dist. cap and rotors are good. not sure about the spark plug wires. car has 85000 miles.

Appreciate all the help I can get. Thanks guys!

I am also having this same issue with my 98 gsr... it only acts up once or twice a week and mine has 117xxx miles. I put new spark plugs and cap and rotor on it when i bought it two years ago, but never replaced the wires.

Any CELs? The 98 should detect misfires. Let the computer tell you what is wrong.

Replace your fuel filter and take your fuel rail off and clean the **** out of your injectors. Make sure to replace the o-rings when you put it back on, or you'll be taking it off again soon. You might want to consider replacing your plug wires as well.

Does the CEL illuminate when you start the car? If not, the bulb needs to be replaced. The ECU will store the CEL codes. You can pull them using this procedure:

CEL works. I have to check for codes later though when I get home. any other possibilities? Also, the engine is offly clean when I purchased the car last week. Something might have gotten wet maybe? I checked the distributor and it's all dry.

No, mine wasnt fixed by replacing the plugs and cap and rotor... A while back I had a cel for my front oxygen sensor and it was bogging down all the time so I replaced it and the car was fine. I thought that the problem had been fixed but now it bogs once in a while again.

I have never gotten a cel from it since I replaced the o2 so I dont know what to do. I've run fuel system cleaner and replaced the fuel filter but nothing has helped. The car runs very strong other than when it bogs down once or twice a week. It idles perfect and has never had any other problems.

Does yours bog down when it is warmed up or shortly after you start it and start driving? I think when mine bogs, it is during the first 2 or 3 mins of being started.

I have a 95 gsr and mine does that on a mildly warm engine during startup. Usually after its been ran during the day.

I just throw in some injector cleaner and it goes away with a tank of gas. I should replace the fuel filter.

ahh...so that's how they work.

If you're having problems like this, you have to be getting some kind of CEL. If not, you could always start with the obvious fixes like the 02 sensor, the plug wires, plugs, cap, rotor, etc....idk where you should start, but that should give you somewhat of an idea
