Installing cams?
I removed my head from my car last night with no problems, except that I did not think that I would have to remove the cams, I removed them both with no problems but I have no idea how I am going to reinstall the new ones I am getting. I know plenty of people here have installed cams for their cars, and would like to know if anyone has step by step instructions on how to install cams into my B18C1 engine, I am not sure how to line them up with the lifters and which lobes go where. Any help at all would be appreciated. thanks
go to Pepboys at the very least and get one of those Haynes (or whatever) books for the 94+ Integra's (It might include the civic too). Trust me, if you do it wrong the car WILL not work correctly. And dont think it will take just a day either, I did mine and got the cam timing off by 2 notches on the belt and the car wouldnt work and I couldn't figure it out at first. Took me two days to get it all back together..first time though.
it only takes me 1 hr to install them. http://hybrid.honda-perf.org/tech/cams.html
don't you need to dyno the car when you install cams ? i have heard that if you installed cams and did not dyno it, you can actually lose power instead of gaining. is this true ?
dang, after reading the article, i want a new set of cams. But is that really true that i can keep my stock GSR valvetrain with the CTR intake/ITR exhaust cam just as long as i don't raise my rev limiter? I plan to raise my rev limiter though, so i might as well do it all once to save labor money?
