get a Haynes book or a Chilton book for guidance if you havent done it before....its simple but time consuming...you will need sockets size of 10mm 12mm 14mm..forgot what size it is for the headstuds...and a breaker bar...mans best friend unless you have power tools...
first let your car cool down...then drain your coolant and oil..disconnect your battery... disconnect all connecters at the head and IM..take off your headers...power steering and ac if you have it.break loose your crank pulley bolt..then take off your valve cover...remove your intake...and then your distributor....once VC is off take off cam covers...with book guidance make sure you take them off in the right order...once that is off take off your crank pulley and timing belt covers...loosen your belt tensioner bolt size 14..that should loosen up the tbelt which it should be kind of loose after taking your cam covers off....slide belt off cam gears...cams should pull right off....then loosen your headstuds and pull off your head..
when installing make sure you resurface your new head....get a new hg and new headstuds..and maybe new IM gasket if you have to transfer your old one onto your new head...then put everything back on...make sure your hg is in right...slap your head back on...and put everything back on....torque head bolts in the correct pattern and to torque specs..also when doing with cam caps...set your block to tdc and cam gears with both arrows saying UP to 12 oclock....and make sure you do put on your timing belt correctly....along with everything else you took off..hope this helps...long story short just for you...LOL

I just had to install an LS head on my b20b bottom end.. I used OEM honda headgasket.. i had read mixed reviews about felpro gaskets.. so i was fixing to boost the car so i didn't wanna take a chance. If you have to swap the intake manifolds over be sure to replace the gasket..
You don't haft to completely remove the exhaust manifold just unbolt it from the head and slide it down out of the way.. On the cam caps be sure to remove them in order and the arrow on the faces the cam gear.. on the cam caps on the ends put a little gasket maker around the area.. (you will see in illustrations)
I highly suggest you make sure you have a manual if you've never did it before.. google the term ''hondahookups manual'' and find the specific manual for your car. It also has the torque specifications for the head bolts and cam caps.. basically everything and anything you could want to know about your engine.

so your going to transfer the rocker arms from your old head to your new head? i myself have never done it before but i highly recommend you take it to shop to do it if your effy about it....
Be careful swapping worn parts between used heads as things wear differently. Also, make sure you stay organized and keep parts in the original order in which they were removed.
