important question
Hey guys ive got a question. I've got a 6-An line feeding my vtec fromt he oil pressure switch. The car has the stock b2-b oil pump, and the number 3 rod bearing is hammered. Is my line to big? pump to small? or both? Also the car has a b18c5 top end and a b20b bottom.
You don't know **** about cars, don't try to act like you do. You ask questions here and then get answers and post somewhere else, like you know what the **** you are talking about, I am not ******* stupid. Get a life.
i am asking that question because i need to decide if i want to buy a aftermarket oil pump. Thats what this forum is for. Are you smart enough to know that answer or do you even know what vtec is?
Hey Asswipes, Just because Kris actually knows something about his car and has the knowledge to ask from the wisdom of those who may know more than he does, makes him a n00b? That's complete BS, I am rebuilding his motor for him, and all though I have built several hondas and know what I'm doing, this is the first LsVtec/ CRVtec motor I've rebuilt from the ground up, and While I was visiting machine shops to get his Rods resized from the catostrophic failure of the #3 rod bearing, I though it might be advantagious to ask a few questions to some people that have been down this road before. I certainly did not have him ask these questions to be belittled by ********. If you have no useful information to give to us, please hold you tongue and let those who know something about our problem speak up. The line going from the pressure switch to the Vtec oil port on the head is 6-AN in size, and in my experiance, the largest size you want to use for an oil feed line is 4-AN, however, not having built a CRVtec motor before, I thought I might ask if this combonation of 6-AN lines with the stock B20B oil pump has been used with success by any of you in the past. A simple reply from someone who knows what the hell he is talking about in the form of" yeah, 6-AN is way too big, stock oil pump should be fine, hope all goes well."would be fine, or perhaps "6-AN line is fine, b20 oil pump is way too small, get yourself a type R oil pump, should fix your problem." or perhaps "I've been running a 6-an line and the stock b20 pump for quite some time with no problems, your problem lies elsewhere." Any of these responses would have given us some glimpse of what the problem is, so we could have quickly and efficiently have ordered the apropriate parts to fix this motor so it doesn't ruin bearings again. You comming on here and calling him stupid and telling him to shut up helps noone and tends to **** people off. Kris is learning a ton about this motor, and has been involved in the entire tear down process, asking questions and learning. So to say he doesn't know what he is ta;ling about, is rude, and frankly, incorrect. This motor is beautifully built, and we would appreciate any help from people who have been down this road before and feel our pain in having to tear apart a motor that was so carefully and expensively assembled. Please understand my frustration with people who are asses to people who are trying to learn as much as they can by asking questions from people who know answers. If you have nothing usefull to say, keep your damn mouth closed. Thank you to those that have helped me sort out other problems in my friends integras. Much apreciation to those that would share their past frustrations in an effort to help us get this beast running and stay running the best it can.

that oil pump is a brand new oem type r oil pump. i told kris this - all the parts on the motor are type r, from the cam gears, to the water pump to the oil pump. you have to keep all the parts on the t-belt the SAME, no mixing and matching. i decided to go all type r for continuity sake.
for someone who "knows" a lot about cars, you guys had to call me to ask how to remove a t-body? THAT is scary. i wish you both well, i think the initial anger has gone away, but please DO IT RIGHT.

uhm, that was kris there, buddy. I'm not sure what your talking about with the T-body,, but you have reciepts for everyhting, and there's no receipts for a type R oil pump,, only a b20Z engine,, which by the way it's a b20b, not a z, anyway, kris said Vtec was fluttering, and there was plenty of oil, so the problem was either in the line, (6 is ok,, fine) or the pump. The gears are NOT type r, they're T.J.s, aftermarket. you know that. anyway, either way, if the 6 AN line is fine, then he needs a bigger pump, if Vtec was fluttering, and only number 3 went,, by the way, it fucked your beautiful rod, then the pump is either bad,, or it's not a type R, either way he needs a type r pump. Nice car, man, Sorry to see it in pieces, by the way, the rod ratio is CLOSER to GSR than stock, but it's not good enough for more than 7500 RPM, for only having 4500 miles, the pistons have WAY too much side scuffing to be gsr ratio. plus I measured it. anywho, very nice car, good luck with the s2000. oh, and I've never once acted like I know alot about cars. I build 12 sec cars, but I ask you guys because I'm smart enough to know that I don't know everything. although,, I assure you I know how to remove the T-body, I think he asked that one before I was in the picture, and yes,, we WILL DO IT RIGHT. that's why were gathering as much info as possible.
