Important or not?????
Quick question, right now i got an lsvtec using gsr head with just bolt ons the motor is running rich righ now i need to get it tuned, is it ok that im running it rich right now until i get it tuned or am i really ruining my motor. Reason i ask is because i cant get it tuned right away.
It's always better to run rich rather than lean. The downsides are: waste of gas, needing to replace O2 sensors sooner, needing cat replacement sooner than usual, carbon build -up on pistons (happens anyway but more so when running rich- but hey cheap way to higher compression
) carbon build-up on valves, sooty stinky exhuast, hippies yell at you saying you're harshing mother earths mellow, slight loss of power, possible chance of detonation due to too much fuel but absolutely more so if you were to run lean. Anyway just get it tuned. What method are you choosing for fuel management? Do you already have adjustable FPR and fuel pressure gage in engine bay to do intial tuning? Standalone with wideband? Anyway good luck and don't worry to much.
