Default Ignition Problems

I had just got my DA back on the road after sitting for a year while I was overseas. When I start the car it cranks and starts fine when you let off the key from the "Start" position it dies. I have to keep doing this several time until it finally holds. My question is do I need the actual key part or the electrical part? Thanks in advance.

Should just be the electrical part, I think that sounds very similiar to something I had in a Chevy Sprint I have. You should be able to buy just the electrical part of the ignition switch.
