ignition coil?

ignition coil?
how can i tell if the ignition coil is bad on a 95 gsr? i wanna make sure its just the ignition coil before i go and buy a whole new distributor. any help would be greatly appreciate. thanks, Sal

I don't have my Helms on me, but to check the coil you're going to need to check the resistance across the primary and secondary connections.
Using an ohm meter to test the resistance should be:
Primary winding resistance
0.6-0.8 ohms
Secondary winding resistance
12.8K- 19.2K ohms

me and Jet Black have bad ignition coils but they still ohm'd good

Checked absolutely everything with distributor,ecu, wiring everything checked fine. Swapped ignitor. Still NO SPARK. Hooked up external ignition coil SPARK. Jetblack had the same problem as me. Coil ohmd good. He took his out it was burnt on the inside warped casing .. hooked different coil up he got spark ...
