hello guys! 96 integ ls, turn key nothing, engine won't turn.. Waited for few hrs, try again then car starts. this has happen before. Any ideas what is causing this? has new battery..

Did you clean your terminals? Not the battery post, but your connectors.
Does the car die when you crank or one click sound?
Does it click multiple times in a fast rate??
Does your radio, clock and instrumetal light, and head lights die when you go to crank it?
Does it seem like there is a "dead" spot when you turn the key?(*As you are turning the key to start the car, it dies, then turns on again.)

 

I have this problem on my 95 GSR. I Diagnosed it to something in the ignition by jumping the starter. MAKE SURE YOUR CAR IS IN NUETRAL for a manual, or park for an automatic. then turn the key to the on possition. Then pop the hood pull of the small wire going to the starter. Then take another wire and touch it to the possitive terminal and the other end to the starter where you unplugged the wire. If it didnt start before and it did this time I know a cheap work around. If you try it let me know what happens.

 

After driving, parked, turn off went in to burger king, came out turn the key, nothing, no sound, no crank turning just dead. Then left the car came back to lunch after 4hrs the car starts like there's no problem. This is the second time it happen.. right now the car is fine, just want to replace the part so it doesn't happen again.. The you guys for the suggestions.

 

Clean your terminals and your grounding spots....

 

When engine does not crank, "nothing, no sound, no crank turning just dead" is there power to anything else, [radio, blower motor, wipers, horn, head lights, dome light]?
