i washed my engine bay with water and let it dry, but now when i start it the idol goes below 1 and starts to shake and then jumps back up then down agian.. i dont know wuts the problem?? please help me out.. thanks

 

Um..

Had this happen to me once. The A/C compressor seized up after it got really wet. Whenever the a/c kicked on it would bog the engine and it would almost stall, then correct itself as the compressor kicked off. Try turning your a/c off and seeing what happens.

Could also be water in the spark plug holes shorting out something, water in distributor..could have caused a bad alternator (probably not causing the idle issue).

 

My guess is water in the ignition system... almost guarantee that you got moisture under your distributor cap. That'll definately make it run like crap. To fix it you gotta tear it apart and let everything completely dry out. Next time bag the dizzy

 

also, you shouln't have let iy dry, you should have started the car right after you were done with the wash and let it idle for about 15 minutes for everything to get dry and if you didnt cover the dizzy, or your aftermarkey intake, you should cover both of em

 

maybe the distributor is wet inside or the wires on the distributor.

 

thanks for the tips, i got it fixed 2day, it was missfiring bcause of the spark plugs, wires, and the distrubator cap. thanks you guys
