you know you can't compress water right?
when your piston tries to compress it, the weakest link will most likely be the rod and it will snap....it happened to me on my integra sucked a lotttt of h20 through my gt32e lol
bye byeee rod....went right through the side of the block!

If you did what you said you did which is:

1) Did not start the motor immediately after.
2) Moved the car to a safe place by other means
3) Pulled all the plugs and cranked the motor.

Your next step is to get a compression and leakdown test, done by someone with know-how. The result will determine what comes next.

yes as stated above, pull the plugs and let it dry out... if you can stick a vac in there in any way to that also cranking it over will help ( without plugs)
